A simple guide to using voice recognition, from setting up your microphone to reading your result.
Have you ever heard a verse, remembered the rhythm but not the name of the Surah? Voice recognition lets you recite the words and find where they come from, without typing or searching.
Before you start
Use a quiet room, and make sure your browser is allowed to use your microphone. If the browser asks for permission the first time, choose “Allow”. Without it, the recording can’t start.
Step by step
- Tap Tap to Speak. The button will light up while it listens.
- Recite the Ayah clearly, at a steady pace.
- Tap the button again to stop.
- Wait a few seconds while your recitation is processed.
What you’ll see
A successful match shows the Arabic Ayah, then the Urdu and English translations. It also shows the Surah name, the Surah number and the Ayah number. You can listen to a recitation of the verse and open the tafseer for more context.
If nothing is recognized
You’ll see a “Voice not recognized” message. This is deliberate: when the match isn’t strong enough, the tool shows nothing rather than a wrong answer. Move closer to the microphone, reduce background noise, and try again with a slower recitation.
A small tip
Reciting a full Ayah or a few consecutive words works better than a single word, because longer phrases are easier to tell apart from other verses.
